Recently, the Mexican Ministry of the Interior announced that it will modify the current labeling requirements for pre packaged food and non-alcoholic beverages, with a review deadline of December 10th.
Related products must indicate at least the following information on the label: product name or generic name; List of ingredients (not required if the product only has a single ingredient); If the relevant ingredients and additives can cause allergic reactions, they should be reported; According to the requirements of NOM-030-SCFI-2006, indicate the net quantity and dry quantity of ingredients in a universal unit of measurement, and other units of measurement can also be used for indication; The name and tax residence of the relevant parties. For imported products, the name, trademark, company name, and tax residence of the responsible party must be marked. After the product is declared but before entering the commercial circulation field, products in Mexico can be marked with this information; Country of origin; Batch number; Expiration date and best consumption date; Partial nutritional information; If necessary, instructions for consumption should be indicated.
